LIVE STREAM How To Maintain Crochet Braids And Q&A | Natural Hair + Senegalese...

If you don't have a lot of time to style your hair, try the Crochet Braid Faux Hawk!

This is my favorite travel hair style. It's no fuss while traveling and only takes about 2 hours to do from start to finish!  You can watch my Faux Hawk Crochet Braid Tutorial here.

In today's like stream, we discussed easy ways I maintain my crochet braids to keep the hair looking good while also caring for my fine natural hair underneath.

Additional product info may be found in the information box here. I did however, receive several questions about how I retain moisture while protective styling, so I'm sharing two of my holy grails below.  Hope this helps!

How do you retain moisture while protective styling?
DEEP CONDITION  It's important to do everything you can to retain moisture during your protective style. So, I deep conditioned my hair with Elucence Moisture Balance Conditioner which also happens to be my holy grail. It's a great multi purpose conditioner so you can use it as a deep conditioner, rinse out conditioner or leave in conditioner.  It's the BOMB!

MOISTURIZE YOUR HAIR AND SCALP DAILY  It's important to keep your hair and scalp in good condition while protective styling.  Mario Badescu's Rose Water Facial Spray is my go to - and another holy grail for daily moisture retention. The added bonus: The aloe vera and herbs in this spray sooth your scalp while providing an effortless hair treatment to keep your hair hydrated!

✈Travel Vlog - Black Love n Travel | Datecation Vineyard Tour in Maryland

We had a blast traveling to Maryland and enjoying the beauty of Black Ankle Vineyard last weekend!

Take a look!

Black Ankle Vineyard is a 30-40 minute drive from Washington, DC and well worth the beautifully scenic drive.

During the summer, this vineyard features beautiful open spaces where large and small groups of friends and families may picnic together.  Kids can run free, fly kites and enjoy one another! Adults may enjoy wine tastings and even tour the vineyard.

The thing we loved most about this place was how warm, friendly, attentive and conversational the staff and other guests were.

See pics and additional video of our travels on our NEW BlackLoveAndTravel Instagram page!

Love to travel?  Comment below and tell us your favorite destination!  We'd love to plan a visit!

Travel tip:  Deposit your favorite hair care and skincare products in leak proof containers then leave them in  your travel bag.  It'll save you time while packing and money in the long run.
