  1. Hi, I have seen your youtube videos on humidity and dew point. I was wondering do you think flat ironed hair can last in the summer depending on humidity/dew point? If so, what do you think would be the range in dewpoint/humidity where flat ironed hair will stay straight?

    1. OMG! I am so sorry that I'm JUST NOW seeing this!
Flat ironed hair can last during the summer months. How straight it will remain will greatly depend upon the dew point in your environment. As a guide low dew points are generally below 50/55. Medium dew points are are generally 55 - 64. High dew points are above 65. Now, how your hair will respond to the dews depends greatly upon whether you have high or low porosity hair. How straight it stays also depends upon the amount of humectant and anti-humectant your use. Because we each have unique hair make up, it's difficult to say exactly what your hair will do. Try cutting out humectants (which attract moisture to hair) and observe how your hair responds to different dew points with various moisture barrier products. Then, you'll know what will work specifically for your hair and what dew point to adjust your styling methods for. Hope this helps!
