My Easy Summer Foundation Routine - Oily Skin + Mature Skin Friendly

Are you a member of Oily Skin Ministry?  Well today I'm sharing my highly requested foundation routine for oily skin. This super easy foundation routine features easy to remember tips and is perfect for young or mature skin.

KEEP YOUR MAKE-UP FROM MELTING! One of my holy grail makeup tips for oily skin is to use powder everything. Summer heat sometimes tricks the brain into believing it's dehydrating. This causes our oily skin to go in to overdrive. Using  setting powders like Laura Mercier Transluscent Power (the best on the market in my opinion) help to set make up in to place while managing and absorbing oil production on the skin. This helps our make up to last longer. Take the TRAVEL SIZE version for a trial run to see how it performs.  I did! Medium deep is perfect for women of color!


KEEP THAT OIL SLICK UNDER CONTROL!  Use a mattifying primer.  I've tried just about everything our there! My absolute favorite primer is Make Up For Ever Step 1 Mattifying Primer. It's a dual use primer for oily skin that may be used with or without make-up because it doesn't leave a white cast on the skin and doesn't leave skin looking for feeling dull. Mature skin sometimes lacks natural "glowiness" and luminosity and this product doesn't make things worse.  If you'd like to address other skin issues such as enlarged pores, hyper-pigmentation, dry patches or more, Make Up For Ever has you covered! OILY, THINNING AND SKIMPY BROWS?  HERE'S A QUICK FIX!  The last tip I'll share in this blog is all about brows!  I love a good eyebrow that naturally frames the face.  Because I have extremely thin, skimpy and fine haired brown, I need a product that will thicken them as well as manage oil production. BECCA Shadow and Light Brow Contour Mousse has been my go to for YEARS! It's perfect for oily skin! In the past, brow products would oxidize on my skin, sort of sit on top of the skin and move around my brow area or come off if I touched it. The BECCA product is AMAZING! The pomade is easy to apply (though it does take practice) but when it sets - it stays in place ALL day.  It's also waterproof, so if you sweat or if he takes you swimming on your first date, those brows won't go anywhere!  LOL!  CURRENTLY ON SALE FOR $12.50!  STOCK UP!

In Tears On Mother's Day | Please Forgive Me.

What an unexpectedly emotional Mother's Day. I cannot believe I spent most of the day in tears.  I suppose, however, I can take comfort in the fact that tears are meant to be cleansing.
